How EZ BLOCK Works 🔩

The EZ BLOCK and EZ BLOCK CUBE are a system of superior, 100% solid steel ballasts. Designed for aluminum box truss and temporary structures, they deliver a stable, non-variable foundation that is demonstrably cleaner and denser than unreliable concrete alternatives. No concrete. Just steel.

Why Solid Steel?

The key to the EZ BLOCK system's effectiveness lies in its material: solid steel.

  • Superior Density and Weight: Steel is approximately three times denser than concrete. This means that for the same volume, the EZ Blocks provide significantly more ballast weight than their concrete counterparts. This density ensures enhanced stability and safety for your structures, making the blocks smaller, heavier, and easier to handle for their holding power.

  • Consistency and Reliability: Unlike concrete, which can be messy and have variable density or curing issues, solid steel is a non-variable material. Every EZ BLOCK provides the exact same, predictable weight and performance, ensuring consistent safety standards across all installations.

  • Clean Operation: The use of solid steel eliminates the mess, dust, and potential chipping associated with concrete.

The EZ BLOCK System: Dimensions and Weight

The system consists of two robust components, each engineered for specific roles in truss ballasting:

EZ BLOCK

12 in. x 12 in. x 18 in.

500 lb.

Standard ballast foundation

EZ BLOCK CUBE

12 in. x 12 in. x 12 in.

350 lb.

Compact ballast

The EZ BLOCK CUBE is designed to function similarly to the corner block in a conventional truss system, only offering a super-heavy amount of dedicated weight in a cubic, low-profile form factor.

Simple, Secure Mounting

Both products are engineered for simple and secure integration with standard trussing systems.

  • Truss Compatibility: Both the EZ BLOCK and the EZ BLOCK CUBE are specifically designed to bolt directly onto standard, off-the-shelf 12-inch by 12-inch aluminum box truss.

  • Flexible Bolting: Mounting holes allow you to bolt the truss from both the top and the bottom of the steel ballast. This dual-bolting capability ensures the truss is locked firmly in place, maximizing the stability of the entire structure.

In short, the EZ BLOCK system provides maximum stability in a compact, clean, and reliable form, drastically simplifying the process of ballasting temporary truss structures.

Let’s talk ACCESSORIES

2x2 EZ HUG

EZ HUG

Modular Weight CombinationS

The EZ HUG accessory line expands the power and flexibility of your EZ BLOCK system by allowing you to combine the weight of multiple blocks into a single, cohesive unit. This provides the ability to create customized, super-heavy ballast foundations in a modular fashion to meet the exact weight and footprint requirements of any project.

Why the EZ HUG?

The purpose of the EZ HUG is simple: to “HUG” multiple EZ BLOCKs together.

  • 100% Solid Steel: Just like the ballasts themselves, every EZ HUG unit is constructed from solid steel, ensuring maximum strength, durability, and a clean, non-variable performance.

  • Modular Weight: Instead of using one massive, fixed-weight ballast, the EZ HUG allows you to combine the 500 lb. EZ BLOCKs and 350 lb. EZ BLOCK CUBEs in custom groupings. This means you can create ballast points of 1000 lb., 1500 lb., 2000 lb., and more by simply bolting the blocks together.

  • Flexibility and Efficiency: Combine the exact amount of weight you need for a specific structure or wind load. The system can be disassembled easily after use, making transport and storage efficient.

EZ HUG SIZES

The EZ HUG is available in a variety of configurations, designated by the number of blocks they are designed to connect. The naming convention refers to the dimensions of the rectangular grouping of blocks it can accommodate (e.g., 2x3 means 2 blocks wide by 3 blocks deep).

With the EZ HUG system, you can scale your ballast weight precisely, turning individual EZ BLOCKS into powerful, integrated ballast structures.

EZ BLOCK TENT Connector “ETC”

Single-Point Anchoring: EZ Block Tent Connector

The EZ Block Tent Connector is an essential mounting accessory that transforms your EZ Block into a secure, heavy-duty anchor for temporary structures, tents, and canopies. It provides a dedicated, universal connection point that firmly holds poles against harsh winds and ground forces.

Why the EZ Block Tent Connector?

The purpose of the EZ Block Tent Connector is simple: to provide a secure, sleeved mounting point for tent support poles

Direct Bolt-On Stability: The connector plate bolts directly to the top of the EZ Block using four 5/8 Hex Bolts and Nuts. This multi-point connection ensures the accessory is locked into the ballast, creating one unified, stable base.

Universal Pole Sleeve: It features a strong vertical pipe designed to accept a tent pole, providing deep insertion into the EZ BLOCK and stable support for the structure above.

Positive Locking Mechanism: A pole inserted into the sleeve is secured in place with Truss Bolts. These bolts thread into welded nuts on the pipe, functioning as a set screw to positively lock the tent pole against the massive weight of the EZ Block.

Heavy-Duty Construction: Built from robust materials, the plate measures 12′′ x 12′′, ensuring a wide, stable footprint and maximum structural integrity for your entire setup.
